Decorating for Christmas

Yep, the decorations are down now (all except the wreath on the front door and some greenery on the stairs that I have to locate a bin for), but I thought maybe you would want to see what it looked like and some of the kids' antics. Our regular, cheap, Wal-Mart tree died last year, and it really isn't in our budget to get a new tree this year, so we just decorated the fake ficus. We kept joking that it looked like an apple tree. You know, it still worked. The presents still fit under it.

Ah, the joys of an empty bin!

I actually busted Kellen JUMPING into the bin while Liam was in it. I turned to see him mid-jump, and I yelled, "No!" as he was landing on Liam. They both looked at me like, "What, Mom?"

Brandon was behind the camera this year, and he just loves his baby Liam!

I don't know if this is a fight move or if Kellen is just rejoicing in the Christmas season!

And just like others before him, Kellen discovered the joys of the advent calendar. I have a picture of Morgan just like this when she was 2 years old as well. The tradition lives on!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care . . .

Hope your holidays were as enjoyable as ours were!

What a good idea to decorate a regular tree! It turned out very pretty! I miss you guys. Your kids are darling.

I love playing in bins. I love your decor. Maybe next year I will decorate. Maybe.

I do love just the red and white on the tree. I left off some of the heavier ornaments, because I thought they might just strip the leaves off the tree -- plus, there were some kind of pricey ornaments that I didn't want to see broken.
